I honestly thought that a grade schooler wrote this. If it wasn't for the omnibus edition, I cannot conceive an oxygen breathing human ever finishing this nonsense. Massively disappointing. The whole Darkbow series that follows this dribble is even worse. Save your money, time and sanity by shoving a screwdriver in your eye right now before you attempt to read this.
Great character development and plot kept me reading until my vision blurred. I am looking forward to following Mr Johnston's future works.
I love fantasy - mystic, magicians, swords - This has it in bucketfuls , Another chapter in the Ursian Chronicles. Some characters and places turn up from previous books. It's like greeting a friend you haven't seen for ages.

I truly enjoyed this series and can't wait for more to come. I couldn't quite figure out the reading order though because they seem to overlap time frames.
